This noteworthy Buddha inlaid image is 130-metre-high and is royally- given name is Phra Phuttha Maha Wachira Utta Mopat Satsada, meaning that Lord Buddha is virtuous and glorious as Maha Wachira (the Great Wisdom). From Buddha Mountain you can see nearby Wat Yansangwararam in the distance, a large and beautiful temple complex. This complex also houses the Viharn Sien, a Chinese temple and museum that has one of the best collections of Chinese artifacts and antiques in Thailand. Since they are just a few kilometers apart, combined they make for a great day out. If you are going to nearby Nong Nooch tropical gardens, Buddha Mountain is a nice place to stop on the way.

How to get to Buddha Mountain

Buddha Mountain is located around 15 kilometers South of Pattaya City. To get there, you can charter a songthaew baht bus, you will have to negotiate the price with the driver. If you prefer a taxi, most hotels in Pattaya will be able to book one for you. Agree on the price before leaving. If you want to visit Buddha Mountain and Wat Yansangwararam in one day, the most comfortable option would be to book the taxi for the day so the driver will wait for you everywhere.
